Sponsored litter pick for Leeds Stars
We’re incredibly proud to share the efforts of a very special 8 year old who is helping the Leeds Stars work towards our £2,000 fundraising target.
​
Millie, the daughter of one of our assistant coaches, has decided she wants to make a difference in her own wonderful way. With support from her mum, she has created a JustGiving page with a personal fundraising goal of £100.
​
On Saturday 23rd and Saturday 30th, Millie will be visiting children’s parks across Leeds to pick up litter and help make them cleaner and more enjoyable for everyone, all in return for donations towards the Leeds Stars fundraising campaign.
​
We think this is an amazing idea and a fantastic example of community spirit, kindness, and determination.

We are asking for help...
Our funds are running critically low, and without urgent support we risk losing opportunities that mean the world to our athletes and their families. We are raising money to help the Leeds Stars Special Olympics Swimming Squad attend Swimming Competition Galas throughout 2026 and 2027. Your donation will help cover gala entry fees, allowing our swimmers to continue doing what they love most — competing, achieving, building confidence, and proudly bringing home medals for Leeds.
Please help us keep these remarkable athletes in the water, on the starting blocks, and chasing their dreams. No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a real and lasting difference.

Liverpool Special Olympics Gala –
9th May 2026
Leeds Stars shone at the Liverpool Special Olympics Gala at Liverpool Aquatics Centre. Our swimmers brought home a fantastic haul of medals and personal bests across breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly, backstroke and the 100IM.

GOLD MEDALS = 7
SILVER MEDALS = 5
BRONZE MEDALS = 7
Highlights included multiple 1st place finishes from Daniel, Olly, Aaron and Dom, strong podium swims from Izzy, Megan and Alex, and huge time drops from many of the squad.
A special shout out to our relay team, Megan, Olly, Aaron and Dom who stormed to 1st place in the relay with a time of 2:09 – a massive 38 seconds faster than 2nd place (2:47)! We are so proud of every swimmer who raced, supported their teammates and represented Leeds Stars with pride.

Beverley Special Olympics Gala -

What a blast we had at the Beverley Gala today! We welcomed our newest member of the squad - Jude! An incredible performance by Jude and the rest of our amazing stars!

Achieving 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals AND 2 speeding tickets!
​
Flying into first place in the relay with our fastest relay time EVER of 02:08!

Well done Leeds Stars! You make your city proud!
